Vontas Cloud is a fully managed hosting service that runs the core Vontas transit applications — OnRoute and OnSite — on Microsoft Azure. Rather than maintaining on-premises servers, storage, and hardware, agencies hand off all infrastructure responsibilities to Vontas, who handles monitoring, patching, upgrades, and operational support end to end. The platform delivers OnRoute through Azure Virtual Desktop and OnSite as a secure web experience through Azure Front Door, backed by a modern security stack that includes Azure Firewall, SQL Managed Instance, and centralized identity management with SSO and MFA.
The result is a lower-risk, lower-overhead operating model purpose-built for transit agencies. IT teams are freed from routine infrastructure management, upgrades are smoother and less disruptive, and security is strengthened through a defense-in-depth approach aligned to zero-trust principles.
